Geena Biondi - Conductor/Director – La Mirada, CA

What a pleasure and joy to learn from the FABULOUS Craig & Mary Durst, also known as 2AZZ1, and their INCREDIBLE band just a few days ago. My Bandos and I will remember this event for years to come, and CAN'T WAIT to get back into Jazz Band rehearsals next week, so that we can put all these great ideas into place. Thank you again, Craig, Mary, and friends, for your warmth and edge. What a great day it was.

Simon Austin - Conductor/Director – Ridgecrest, CA

"Craig and Mary are dear friends and super amazing music geniuses! Their performance with our Burroughs High School Band in Ridgecrest was the highlight of our concert. They of course got a standing ovation and folks in our town are still going on and on about those amazing performers from the big city. Mary's vocal stylings are flawless, inspirational and from the heart. She is perfect! Craig blew me away with his equally great sax solos and making our band fall in love with him. To think they did that with Mary's original compositions made the event a mixture of everything I love about music. I highly recommend every band out there do whatever it takes to work with Craig and Mary Durst before the window of opportunity is no more. I am THRILLED my students got to have them on our 2015 Spring concert!"

Ed Wolfe – Director: San Dimas, CA – JAZZ HALL OF FAME INDUCTEE

"I met Craig and Mary Durst in the early 90's as they were teaching some of our Lone Hill Middle School music students. Craig was working with my woodwinds and Mary had some of my wife's and my piano and vocal students. Their private instruction led to great progress in each and every student. In the mid 90's they became the Lone Hill Jazz Band's first guest soloists. That performance inspired my students to achieve an even higher performance level. During the following 20+ years I was happy to involve them as guest clinicians and private instructors for both Lone Hill Middle School and San Dimas High School. It was my pleasure to have them, once again, as guest soloists at my final SDHS jazz concert before my retirement. They are excellent musicians and students respond well to their instruction and performances. I recommend them heartily and look forward to hearing their recent project."

Richard Meyer – Conductor/Arranger (Alfred Publishing) Temple City, CA

"Craig and Mary have an amazing and unique way of both entertaining AND educating every student that they encounter. Their knowledge of music performance and theory is surpassed only by the way in which they impart it. Your students are in for a real treat when the Dursts are teaching! I've seen Craig work his magic with anywhere from 5 to 50 saxophones! Everyone was totally into the lesson. This was how music should be learned-- in a fun, energetic way! Mary taught our 65 string players at Bellis Music Camp all about the 12 bar blues in a great session that got them taking their first steps toward improvising. Her humorous and nurturing style was refreshing to watch. The kids LOVED her!"

Jeff Grable – Conductor/Director — Arcadia, CA

2AZZ1 (Craig and Mary) have been an outstanding compliment to our music program for many years and continue to inspire, encourage, and entertain students. Their coaching and clinics are engaging as well as informative and I would invite them back anytime to my school and program.

Ria Kubota – Conductor/Director – Ontario, CA

Craig and Mary capture their audience with their positive energy and PASSION for teaching music. I've been fortunate to see them in action in a number of settings from a large group performance for 100+ enthralled summer campers, a smaller clinic for my Polytechnic School Band, to a private studio and recital setting. In every venue they connect with the students in a genuine way and inspire them to excel and to have fun with music. The Dursts sense of humor, kindness, and spirit hit the mark every time.

Kelly Leyva - Band Director, Lone Hill Middle School

Craig and Mary have come in to clinic all of my groups at Lone Hill Middle School and every time they come my kids come away with something new that helps them perform better. The students absolutely love when they come in to visit and ask if they can come back again! Both Craig and Mary are high-energy performers that engage the students during rehearsals. Wonderful example to my students and gets them fired up to want to perform even better!
